A computer has always been useful when managing inventory, creating invoices or billing clients. This, however, is not done with stock tools, but with special software. The market is full of them and they will relieve you from endless paper work. Invoice Expert stands out in a crowd due to its many functions which will relieve you from endless paper work. It looks and feels like a software from the MS Office suite, so it will not take long to accommodate to it. The best thing is that there is a free version available, with only a few limitations.

The setup kit is 25 Mb large, which may take longer to download if you have a weaker Internet connection. Installing it on your computer is a fast and straightforward process. You will only have to set a destination path and opt for different types of shortcuts.

Invoice Expert features a complex interface, which may be a bit discouraging at first, but if you take your time to look around it, you will notice that everything is placed in a logical manner. The program's features can be accessed via buttons on a toolbar. There are two types of toolbars which are found under separate navigation tabs, just like in a MS Office software. The quick menu will only display essential toolbar buttons, while the full one will display nearly all functions.

Sticking with the lighter version of the toolbar will be sufficient to make use of the Invoice Expert's features. The buttons will display different sets of options, on the main area of the window, which you can use to build databases for customers, products, vendors, purchase orders or invoices, create reports and more. A database consists of a list, found on the lower half of the window and a selected item's details, as well as a flexible search function, on the upper half. A series of buttons on the right edge of the interface may be used to add, edit or delete an item and to export it to MS Excel. When adding a new item, a tabbed window will show up where you can type in all its details. For example, if you add a new customer, the information you can insert includes name and address, shipping, account, contact and credit card details. All these categories can be found under different tabs. Products, vendors and other entry types can be added to a database the same way, but the categories will obviously be different. All that you need to know is that it is possible to associate any kind of information with a database entry.

Information is not added only by typing in dialog boxes. There are certain pre set details you can select from drop menus, like if an item is in stock or not. It is also possible to select items you have added to your database from drop menus. When you create an invoice, you can manually insert the customer's information and the products he bought or select them from menus and the fields will be filled in automatically. There are many other tools you can find which will simplify your work. Different report types can be created automatically, by selecting one from a drop menu and clicking a button beneath it. You can also access a dashboard with general statistics such as product sales and profits or current invoice aging. They are all displayed as graphs and pie charts for a better view.
